About

Hi, I am Louise Bedford, an archaeologist and heritage communicator.

On my YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and Website, all called 'Louise Archaeology', I post a variety of archaeology-related content about whatever interests me. I have over 20,000 followers and 8 million views.

I am passionate about sharing archaeology with a variety of audiences, which is what initially inspired me to pursue content creation and explore my broader research interests. I am open to freelance inquiries, whether for influencer activities or projects. Please see my portfolio for examples of my previous work, and feel free to get in touch

In April 2023, I uploaded my first archaeology YouTube video on my favourite artefact of all time, the Nebra Sky Disc. Since then, I posted on and off, but in the last year, I have committed to posting, falling in love with it all over again since completing my degree. My dream is to write archaeology books.

Professionally, I also work part-time as an Archaeology Digital Content Creator for a commercial unit and museum, so I have extensive experience with social media and content creation. (Feel free to connect on LinkedIn).

Outside of social media, I am also an academic. In July 2025, I graduated with a first-class BA Archaeology degree from the University of York. Currently, I am pursuing an MSc in Digital Heritage and am thinking about pursuing a PhD in the near future, but I think I need some time off first!

My academic interests lie in using digital technologies like games and social media for communicating archaeology. I am also interested in bringing as much creativity as possible to dissemination. In regard to time periods, prehistory is my absolute favourite, especially the Neolithic. That said, I love it all.

Outside of archaeology, I love coffee, games (video + board varieties) and travelling (which I fear is inside archaeology as I love visiting sites).

Don't hesitate to get in touch. I am honestly just a massive nerd.
